I’m Pete Fish. This past fall I was hired by the AgraMarke Board of Directors to be your project manager. This means that my main project is to help you improve your bottom line. Economics tells us there are two ways that can be accomplished. More dollars in or less dollars out. We are going to take the more dollars in approach first.
As you know your Board approved an agreement with INTL FC Stone who will provide us with grain merchandising services, marketing plans and a program called KnowRisk. They have developed relationships with foreign grain buyers especially in Asia and they recognize the Farm Fresh quality of the commodities you raise. Within 3 weeks of making this agreement FC Stone phoned and ordered 80,000 bushels of farm fresh soybeans and offered a .25 -30 cent per bushel basis premium. This is great news. The participating members were able to benefit financially from this new relationship! This is what your cooperative can do for you. Wouldn’t it be exiting if we could get a .50 cent premium!
Now for the next step. Next week we are going to ask you to join us in a very special meeting. For your convenience we will conduct informative meetings at three different sites on three different consecutive days. The agenda will include as follows:
Topic 1 – An update on our partnership with INTL FC Stone. This includes an exiting new business management tool known as KnowRisk. FC Stone staff will be there to demonstrate.
Topic 2 – Grain marketing opportunities. FC Stone
Topic 3 – Crop Insurance update. The direction of your cooperative takes in the future is directly tied to how well you the membership embrace this program. Pete Fish, AgraMarke project manager.
